It's beginning to look like Spring

Yes. Finally. It has felt like such a long hard winter to me. Has it to you? It just seemed that every time I turned around we were getting another deep freeze or blizzard or what have you. I think I was hyper-sensitive because because of a colossal mistake on this shepherdess' behalf, I'm lambing. Yeah. I know, shake your head. But, as is the world-wide mantra of all farmers and ranchers.... next year will be better. Because of the weather, I just haven't felt much like taking pictures. I basically have been just doing chores and recovering. It takes half an hour to get bundled up (I exaggerate, but, please!), then because I'm so bundled, everything takes longer. Also because the wind is usually blasting me from whatever direction I have to walk in, things take longer still. (Yes, I'm related to the guy that walked 5miles uphill to school - both directions). So, today, the wind died down at about 4:00pm. It was eery. But beautifully so! I grabbed my camera and went out just in a hoody and gum-boots and my, "I'm home sick with a cold sweat pants". Here are a few photos:
It's MELTING! I hate the wind, but I love its' effects.

The last two lambs that were born (it was -20 at the time).
This is Blizzard. Guess when she was born.
This is one great mamma. I accidentally gave her lamb to another mamma for a full day before I realized my dumb mistake. She still took the lamb without any grief. Believe me, that's a big deal.

Oh, the sweetness of those babies! Glad to see that you all are at least starting to thaw a bit, even if the cold winds are still blowing. Keep warm and safe my friend!

I always feel bad for the lambs of the "big white sheep," lambing in the dead of winter as they do! Mine are due starting in four weeks....

Can't believe she just took her lamb back. She's definitely a keeper!
