Christmas already?

I heard Christmas carols the other day in the store. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does. It's like it waters down the holiday to start celebrating it so early. By the time December 25 rolls around, I'm sick of it. That's just wrong. That's consumerism for you. North America. But being a North American and being that nearly every time I go to the city I stop at Walmart - I can't point too far without including myself. BUUUT there are things we can do now for Christmas that fly in the face of all that and leave me feeling really really good. It's Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child time again. It's become my favourite part of Christmas. Have you ever done it? I Challenge you do to it this year. Never heard of it? Just click on the image below and check out the website. But, basically, you get a shoebox - your own or a tupperware like container that's about the same size or you can get OCC shoe boxes, too. Buy some toys and toiletries for a child in a country where they don't get these basic things and fill your shoe box. A small thing, but a life-changing thing for a needy child. Check out the videos they have at their website - it is so great to see those little kids so happy to get a shoe box of goodies.

I know what you mean Heather... it's just simply too soon to be seeing chocolate Santas! Nice cause and a good organization.

It seems to start earlier and earlier every year too.
