Carving Outside The Box

I helped a friend gut a dozen pumpkins the other day and it put me in the mood to carve a pumpkin myself. I haven't done that since I was a kid. But I didn't do anything about buying a pumpkin until I went to the city on Sunday. Halloween. Yeah, right. No pumpkins. But while I was in the store I passed some watermelon, butternut squash, honey dew and cantalope - so.... when life gives you melons...
