Thanksgiving

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6.

I'm not sure if you're like me and focus too much inward and start worrying and fretting - making much ado about nothing, often. I was doing that the other day. This weekend is Thanksgiving, for us Canucks and, I ended going to two family dinners. I was "ho-hum" about the whole thing until I went, and thoroughly enjoyed myself at both. The first was at my brother's place and I brought along the boy that lives across the road from me, Daniel, so there were 5 kids - definitely a recipe for a good time. My stepdad brought his new friend, Margaret, and she was lovely. The two of them played with the kids the entire time, and the house was full of laughter. I couldn't have envisioned a better Thanksgiving. Today I went to my Aunt Kelly's and spent time with my cousins and grandma and aunt and uncle. More laughter and a very relaxed atmosphere. I feel very full. In my soul - you know that feeling? All this family close by, I definitely feel loved. And I am SO thankful.

Sounds like the move is a good thing; I'm happy for you!

BTW, did the Shetland(s) make the cut when you moved?

Yep, the Shetlands - Meg and Callie - came with me. They're looking like they need to be sheared again - do you have to shear yours twice a year?

I thought so, but the one time I did it I was disappointed in the next shearing, so I only shear once a year now. Glad to hear the Shetlands made the cut!

Welcome back!! I have missed you. So you been through another adventure. Well done!! Tell us about your new house and farm. I have been feeling the pinch these days as I consider all that needs to be done-fences, stalls to repair and I really did need to build a new ram pen but my husband and I couldn't agree on where to put it. There are too many fleeces in the basement waiting...and so on. You are right...stand back and breathe deeply and be thankful. My daughter is home from university this week and as always she brings such sweet blessings, good smells in the kitchen and most important-helps me with the sheep. Smiling. Love to you and carry on.
