Oh Murphy!

Murphy is my friend's dog. He's a Labradoodle - have you ever heard of them? Yep a cross between a Lab and a Poodle. Don't think about it too much. Well, last year Michele bought her first house and wanted a dog. But a medium size, non-shedding dog. Enter the Labradoodle. I looked around for one and I found some - $2500 each. I'm not kidding! So, we gave up that idea. I suggested the animal shelter. One day I decided to look online at the shelter in her city (I'm very pro-active in making sure everyone who wants a dog, gets a dog!!) and lo and behold they had this cute little thing named Winnie and he was a Labradoodle! Well, I had to light a fire under Michele to go take a look (she was sick at the time), but she did, fell in love and adopted the little guy. And changed his name to Murphy. A good and appropriate name. He's about a year old and has totally claimed Michele as his own. Last week Michele went for a holiday for a week and so I looked after Murphy. A city dog on the farm. Oh yeah! Well, he's a busy little guy. I took him for 2 long runs a day to wear him out. Worked like a charm! He loved running with the "BIG dogs for a week" But, in the house - well, check out these pictures....

He discovered my kindling stick bin. And one by one would pull out a stick, chew on it for a while and then go get another. Until the bin was empty. And my floor was a mess. And the couch - that didn't happen again :o).

His mummy came to pick him up last night. I miss the little guy. Despite his getting into the garbage and the sticks and throwing up on my bed, he was really sweet, lol. He's quite the snuggler. But, he'll be back this weekend for a visit :o) I better empty the stick bin and the garbage.

I wish I could maintain my perspective as well as you. The throwing up on the bed would have done me in.

Only a dog lover would understand, "despite his getting into the garbage and the sticks and throwing up on my bed he was really sweet." Very funny.
